Upcoming Events:
Funding Received from Vision and Transformation Fund. The Genesis Council is delighted to announce that Genesis has received $10,000 a year for the next three years to implement our strategic plan as we continue Visioning our Future.

From Music and Worship Committee:  During the Visioning Our Future process, the love of music and importance of faith through music surfaced as a major emphasis.   One idea of many was to re-establish a Choir, and we are gauging interest in forming a Genesis Choir that would sing once a month:   The plan is for two one-hour celebrative and fun practices a month with a hired choir director.  The choir would sing at the joint service on the first Sunday of the month. If you are interested in being in the choir, please indicate your interest to [email protected]  or Brian or a member of the committee (Kenda Allen, Val Allen, Bryan Anderson, Dianne Arril, Ernie MacMillan, Lorraine McNaughton). The level of interest determines how we proceed.  Also, please indicate your preferred day for practice.

A Place at the Table: Last week, on Holy Thursday (April 17), The United Church of Canada unveiled a bold photographic reimagining of The Last Supper, marking a significant moment for its centennial celebrations this year. Revealed for the first time at Metropolitan United Church in Toronto, the reinterpretation challenges traditional depictions of the iconic scene and affirms the United Church’s belief in an all-encompassing love that embraces each person as their authentic self. The message of “a place at the table” reflects the Church’s ongoing commitment creating a just community of belonging, advocating for 2S/LGBTQIA+ rights, seeking racial justice, working toward reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples and defending human rights and building peace all around the world.
